Walking in the footsteps of our namesake, Saint Francis, we aspire to be a gentle, joyful and loving presence in our community and world, through listening to others and to God, learning from others, and loving radically. For us, the radical love of Christ without boundaries means that we welcome, embrace and learn from all people--people with differing perspectives, abilities, sexuality, gender, race, and ethnicity.
The word radical comes from the word "root" which means that we cannot radically love without being deeply rooted in Christ. Our guiding Scripture is Ephesians 3:17-19.
"I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have the power, together with all God's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."
